Description
There are many ways to care for someone, but getting identified as caring for someone can be challenging in today's health & social care climate. Carer, author and poet Matthew McKenzie (FRSA) shares his knowledge on being identified as a carer. Matthew has run many carer groups and forums and has listened to how people stuggle to be recognised as a carer.
To be identified as a carer can provide the person access to services that can help the carer and 'cared for'. This course will give you an overview of the challenges people can face when needing to help to carry out their caring role.
The course will also provide tips and steps for getting yourself identified as a carer. You can also learn how to hold to account on staying recognised. The course is aimed primarily at those caring for someone, but professionals can use the course to understand how carers think and what their concerns are.
